MTN & NCC agree on N333bn fine

The Telecoms giant, MTN has finally agreed to pay N333 billion ($1.7 billion) to the federal government for failing to comply with a directive to disconnect 5.1million improperly registered lines before the deadline given to telecoms operators in the country. The sum was agreed upon after eight months of negotiation.

The group, in a statement on Friday, said it will also ensure the listing of its shares in the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
