Dinner Ideas for Kids to Keep Them Healthy

Cooking dinner for your kids can be more challenging than preparing the foods for adult tasters. It can be even more frustrating when you have to face the picky children. It is quite often that you have very limited time in the kitchen but your kids always wish to have tasty dishes on the dining table.



 The fact that you also have to serve your kids with healthier foods has escalated the challenge even more. Thankfully, there are many dinner ideas for kids to choose from. Many of them are not only filling and tasty, they are healthier dinner ideas as well.
Every kid in the world can be very fussy when it comes to eating their dinners. Your kids must come up with common ideas in their mind. Every night, they must desire to have pizzas, hot dogs, popcorn or potato chips for their dinner time. If you care about the health of your kids, you shouldn't surrender yourself to your children junk dinner ideas. Otherwise, you might initiate a number of serious problems like overweight problems or obesity. It would be much better if you stick to the following dinner ideas for kids.

Rice and Chicken Drumsticks

  • Make sure that you have the following ingredients:
    - 8 chicken drumsticks
    - 2 tbsp of olive oil
    - 2 slices of tomatoes
    - a slice of onion
    - 2 slices of red bell peppers
    - cooked rice
    - 2 cloves of chopped garlic
    - salt and black pepper.

    The first thing you need to do is to preheat the oven at 375° Fahrenheit. In order to make sure that the chicken drumsticks will cook all the way through, you might as well use a knife to slash them several times. While the chicken drumsticks are in the bowl, you might as well use the salt and black pepper to season them and drizzle olive oil on the top. You need a baking sheet to transfer the drumsticks and put them into the oven until they turn golden brown. Make sure that the drumsticks are crisp before you go on with the next instructions. If you like to remove the chicken fat from the baking sheet, you can simply drain the sheet. You can now mix the olive oil, onion, saute garlic, tomatoes and bell peppers altogether. Once you have seasoned the drumsticks with black pepper and salt, you can put them in the pan and cook them for about 10 minutes. After you spread the rice on the platter, it is about time for you to arrange the drumsticks and grilled vegetables in an appealing manner.

    Obviously, there are many other healthy dinner ideas for kids you can try like pepperoni pizza, baked potatoes or Graham Cracker and Peanut Butter Cookies. Whatever dinner idea that you choose, it would be best if you cook the recipes yourself in the kitchen. That way, the dishes would be much healthier than those ready made junk foods. These healthy selections will keep your children from harmful and unhealthy consumption.
