Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike pledged on Thursday that he would deliver his electoral promises such that the people would never regret electing him.
Wike made the pledge in Port Harcourt
while inaugurating the Rumukurusi-Eneka-Igwuruta road being part of the
activities lined up to mark his one year in office.
The governor expressed his determination to make remarkable impact on the lives of the populace during his tenure.
“Rivers people will not have any cause
to regret giving me their mandate. I am already working very hard to
fulfill all my campaign promises. Our target is to ensure the completion
of every project being embarked upon and those left behind by the
immediate past government,” he said.
According to Wike, the confidence the people have in him will be justified at the end of the day.
“I will not disappoint Rivers people,
you will not regret giving us your mandate and our concern is to
implement projects that will have positive impact. We urge Rivers people
to give us support and make meaningful inputs that will help us serve
them better,” he said.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during the event, the state’s Commissioner for Works, Bathuel Iheanyichukwu, said the roads would boost economic activities.
He told the populace to support
contractors handling projects in their communities and to also provide
security for equipment and personnel.
